Passenger Assistant Wanted – Barking & Dagenham School Transport
Monday to Friday | Morning & Afternoon Runs | Training Provided
We are looking for reliable Passenger Assistants to support children and vulnerable passengers on school transport runs in and around Barking, Dagenham, Chadwell Heath, Becontree, Goodmayes, Rush Green and nearby areas.
This role is mainly Monday to Friday during school term time, working both the morning school run and afternoon return run.
You do not need to travel to our office each day. Where possible, you will be picked up from home and dropped back home by the driver, depending on the route.
Pay:
£12.71–£13.39 per hour + holiday pay
Higher rates available for experienced WAV / MPV / complex SEN routes.
Your duties will include:
Supporting pupils and vulnerable passengers safely during the journey
Helping passengers get in and out of the vehicle where needed
Working with the driver to keep the route safe, calm and on time
Communicating politely with parents, carers, schools and staff
Reporting any concerns, incidents or safeguarding issues properly
Following company procedures at all times
We are looking for someone who is:
Reliable and punctual
Patient, caring and calm under pressure
Confident working with children and vulnerable passengers
Able to follow instructions properly
Available Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons
Based in or near Barking & Dagenham
Training is provided, including passenger safety, safeguarding awareness, SEN transport procedures and company route procedures.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required due to the nature of the role.
