Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Co-ordinator to bring energy and engagement to our senior residents’ daily lives. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and lead a variety of stimulating activities tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of our residents. Duties
- Develop and implement a wide range of engaging activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Coordinate group events, individual outings, creative workshops, music sessions, and recreational activities to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ preferences and abilities, ensuring activities are accessible and enjoyable for all
- Maintain detailed records of activity participation, resident feedback, and progress notes to monitor engagement levels and adapt programs accordingly
- Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere by encouraging resident participation and building strong relationships with individuals
- Manage activity supplies, equipment, and resources efficiently while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Liaise with families and external organizations to enhance activity offerings and create meaningful community connections
Experience
- Prior experience working in care homes is highly preferred but not essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia care and Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Proven ability to develop creative programming tailored to diverse senior populations
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents, staff, families, and community partners
- Experience in caregiving or care home environments that involve supporting older adults’ social needs is advantageous
- Familiarity with activity planning tools and documentation methods for tracking resident participation and progress
