Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Pre‑School Teacher or qualified Early Years Practitioner (EYP) to join our team specifically within our Pre‑School room. Although our setting is a nursery, this role is dedicated to working with Pre‑School children aged 3–5, supporting their learning, development, and school readiness.
The successful candidate will hold the appropriate qualification for their role — a recognised teaching qualification for Pre‑School Teachers, or a higher‑level Early Years qualification for EYPs — ensuring they can deliver high‑quality early education within a stimulating and nurturing environment.
Essential Qualifications (Role‑Specific Requirements)For Pre‑School Teacher applicants:
- Must be a qualified teacher (QTS, EYTS, PGCE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
For Early Years Practitioner (EYP) applicants:
- Must hold a higher‑level Early Years qualification (e.g., Level 5, Level 6, Foundation Degree in Early Years, BA in Early Childhood Studies, EYTS or equivalent)
For all applicants:
- Enhanced DBS (funded by employer for successful candidates)
Key Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities tailored to Pre‑School children and aligned with EYFS outcomes
- Support children’s school readiness through early literacy, numeracy, independence and social skills
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress accurately
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to organise routines, educational programmes, and special events
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times
- Manage classroom resources efficiently
- Demonstrate strong leadership, professionalism, and positive role‑modelling within the team

Experience & Requirements
- A strong understanding of the developmental needs of Pre‑School children aged 3–5
- Ability to plan and deliver learning experiences appropriate for this age group
- Experience working with young children through teaching practice.
- Ability to lead learning and support children’s development confidently
- Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to keeping children safe
