Gammond Transport Ltd is a busy family run business with over 70 years experience in general haulage, delivering and collecting goods Nationwide.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy team. We require a Driver with a current Class 2 driving licence, Driver Card/Digital Tachograph Card and CPC Card/Driver Qualification Card to make our deliveries. You will be expected to represent the Company by having a positive outlook, with a flexible approach and a friendly attitude.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving. This role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service as you transport goods to various locations within the UK.
You will need to be able to carry out physical work, having a good fitness to work record. There is the opportunity for nights out as and when required, with some being a necessity now and then. You will be guaranteed 48 hours per week with additional hours usually worked.
An ability to follow instructions and liaise politely with customers where necessary is essential. You will be required to conduct vehicle checks and report any issues appropriately.
It is essential/desirable that the successful candidate has:
· A valid HGV Class 2 Driving Licence with a clean driving record
· Ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
· An up-to-date CPC and Digi Tacho Card
· Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
· Have a minimum of 12 months HGV driving experience
· Must be physically fit to carry out the duties required of the job
· To have a customer facing approach with a strong, professional work ethic
· A positive attitude to work and the ability to work on your own initiative
· Able to work a flexible day (mainly early starts)
· Hiab and Moffett Certificate desirable but not essential, training will be given
· Be reliable, trustworthy, punctual and self-motivated
· There will be some nights out
