Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Registered Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of a Nursing Home specialising in care of the elderly, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a dedicated team to create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for residents. Duties
- Oversee the overall management of the care home, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and quality standards.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual residents' needs, including specialised dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Supervise and support staff, including supervising experience in managing teams of carers and nursing staff.
- Administer medication in accordance with prescribed protocols and ensure accurate documentation.
- Lead on staff recruitment, training programmes, and ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor the quality of care provided, conducting audits and implementing improvements where necessary.
- Manage budgets, resources, and documentation related to care provision efficiently.
- Promote a positive organisational culture centred around leadership, compassion, and excellence in senior care.
Skills
- Proven experience in residential or nursing home environments with a strong understanding of the needs of older adults.
- Extensive knowledge of dementia care practices including Alzheimer’s care strategies.
- Experience in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising experience in a healthcare or residential setting.
- Competence in medication administration adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams within a care home environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing care homes and home care services.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to foster trust among residents, families, and staff.
