In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components. Your mechanical knowledge, fabrication skills, and familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software will be essential in ensuring high-quality output. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery, contribute to innovative projects, and develop your expertise in manufacturing processes.
Duties
- Set up CNC machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming parameters based on job specifications.
- Operate CNC milling machines and other fabrication equipment to produce parts according to detailed drawings and specifications.
- Use CAD software such as SolidWorks to review designs and assist in programming machine operations.
- Perform routine inspections of machined parts to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to tolerances.
- Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, material quantities, and machine adjustments.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse environment, including loading and unloading raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain proper documentation of production runs, machine maintenance logs, and quality control reports.
- Use hand tools and welding equipment as needed for assembly or minor repairs of components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to minimise downtime.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with materials handling equipment and fabrication tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs for design review and programming support.
