Sonic Stone fabricates bespoke natural stone, mosaics and composite surfaces for domestic and commercial clients. As an established and growing business, we're expanding our factory and production area and are looking for a technically experienced Sawyer / CNC / Waterjet Machine Operator to join our team.
Previous stone industry experience is not essential.
We are open to candidates with previous CNC, Waterjet, saw or automated machine-operating experience from other industries who are interested in learning natural stone fabrication.
Candidates with experience in glass, steel, metal fabrication, engineering, joinery, manufacturing or similar technical environments are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do
- Operate bridge saws, CNC and Waterjet machinery cutting marble, granite, onyx, quartzite and composite stone
- Work from cutting programs, technical drawings, templates and cut sheets
- Carry out visual and dimensional quality checks on finished pieces
- Assist with machine setup and accurate material cutting
- Learn stone cutting, fabrication and CNC programming
- Keep machinery and work areas clean and well maintained
- Work to production deadlines as part of a small, hands-on team
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating CNC, Waterjet, saws or similar automated machinery
- A technical, engineering or manufacturing background
- Previous stone experience is not required
- Candidates from glass, steel, metal, engineering, joinery, manufacturing or similar industries are welcome
- Comfortable reading technical drawings and measurements
- Good technical and practical understanding
- Good computer skills
- CNC programming, CAD/CAM or AutoCAD experience would be an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finish quality
- Willingness to learn stone fabrication, machinery and new software
- Reliable team player with good communication skills
Full training will be provided on our materials, machinery and stone production processes.
