At Precision Timber, we are a family-run company specialising in designing, manufacturing, and installing natural playgrounds, sustainable outdoor equipment, and landscaping solutions. We work across a range of settings, from schools and nurseries to parks, visitor attractions, and community spaces.
We’re passionate about crafting outdoor spaces that encourage children to explore, be creative, and flourish, because every child deserves the chance to play.
We are looking to hire a field-based account executive to join our rapidly expanding business and to be the customer face of a newly created sales team that will be responsible for driving the growth of the business over the next 10 years
Our business aim is to be recognised as a market leader by our clients and the wider specialist timber production market so this exciting phase of business development - with the creation of our new sales function provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to shape our success and develop their own careers within our company.
Currently we have been winning significant new and repeat business through organic means rather than through focussed sales activities to date and so the creation of our new sales team is a strategic exercise for us.
As a result, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining customer relationships and be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving business growth.
This role will suit somebody who has already had some form of desk based / internal sales experience and has already spent 2 years working in a field – based sales role.
We are looking for a candidate who will not be reliant on being fed leads, instead we are looking for an individual who is able to take our businesses value proposition and create a pipeline of new name clients who will benefit from the products and services that we offer.
Our account executive sells based on value and not price, can identify and service new markets with confidence and clarity as well as building and converting business from their own qualified pipeline.
The business is also recruiting a desk based account manager who will be tasked with converting leads that will come from our outbound marketing activities and also from inbound customer enquiries, however more complex customer requirements will be handled by the account executive and therefore we would expect that some leads will be provided but leads are not expected to make up more than 20% of the overall business pipeline for this role.
As with all our sales roles, the ideal candidate will be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers by developing an in depth understanding of our product and services capability and be able to communicate this effectively to potential customers.
Although timber industry experience is desirable, it is not essential as we value self-starters, enthusiasm and a "can do" attitude. We are looking to find candidates with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of selling based on value and not just price.
This role will be particularly suitable for candidates who can demonstrate experience of building their own sales strategy and plans that are linked to an overarching company business plan as well as being able to handle the pressure of effectively leading the sales engine of a business.
