Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for construction painting and decorating to contribute to diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties. A valid driving licence and strong communication skills are desirable to facilitate smooth project execution and client interactions.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and masking to ensure a smooth finish
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Follow technical specifications and colour schemes accurately to meet client expectations
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and organised throughout the project
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to understand project requirements and provide advice on colour choices and finishes
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition for optimal performance
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating or related trades
- Strong knowledge of different paints, finishes, tools, and techniques used in decorating projects
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Organised approach with attention to detail and commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship
