Bodnant Joinery Ltd is an established bespoke joinery company based in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. We manufacture high-quality timber windows, doors, staircases, gates, fitted furniture and restoration joinery for residential and commercial clients.
We are looking for an experienced Bench Joiner to join our workshop team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has excellent attention to detail and enjoys producing high-quality bespoke joinery.
You will work on a varied range of projects, including traditional windows and doors, staircases, restoration work and one-off bespoke commissions, manufacturing products from drawings and specifications through to completion.
The Role
As a Bench Joiner, you will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling high-quality bespoke timber products to drawings, specifications and our required standards.
Your duties will include:
- Manufacturing bespoke timber windows, doors, frames, staircases and other joinery products.
- Reading and accurately working from technical drawings and job specifications.
- Setting out, cutting, machining and assembling timber components.
- Using workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Checking your own work throughout the manufacturing process.
- Ensuring finished products meet required quality and dimensional standards.
- Identifying and raising any issues with drawings, measurements or specifications before proceeding.
- Working efficiently to meet production schedules and agreed deadlines.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Working independently while contributing positively to the wider workshop team.
About You
This role is suited to an experienced Bench Joiner who is confident producing high-quality bespoke joinery and can work accurately from drawings with minimal supervision.
We are looking for someone with:
- At least 3 years' relevant bench joinery experience.
- Proven experience manufacturing bespoke timber joinery.
- Good knowledge of traditional and modern joinery techniques.
- Experience manufacturing timber doors, windows or other complex joinery.
- The ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of their work.
- Good practical problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage their own work effectively.
- A reliable, professional and positive approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A relevant joinery qualification or apprenticeship would be advantageous.
Knowledge or previous experience using JoinerySoft would also be advantageous, but is not essential.
