Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader for Children’s Residential Care to oversee daily operations within our thrrapeutic childrens home. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, and supporting children in a safe and nurturing setting. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a compassionate approach to child welfare. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives while working within a supportive team. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of therapeutic care staff to ensure the delivery of personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Oversee daily routines and activities within the residential setting, maintaining a safe and positive environment.
- Support children with their emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs, promoting their well-being and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding.
- Facilitate effective communication between staff, children, families, and external agencies to promote collaborative care.
- Assist with the development and review of care plans in partnership with social workers and other professionals.
- Organise staff rotas, monitor performance, and provide coaching or training where necessary to maintain high standards of care.
- Drive organisational initiatives aimed at improving service quality and team cohesion.
- Maintain accurate records of care activities, incidents, and progress reports in accordance with organisational policies.
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience within a childrens home particularly involving families in need and children in care
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, essential for liaising with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Competence in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external meetings or appointments.
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and reporting systems.
- Knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures.
- Supervision of collwagues and reflective practices
- Compassionate trauma informed approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure while managing challenging behaviours effectively.
- Shifts 1 day on 2 days off with sleep in duties 08.00 till 23.00 working
Pay: £32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
