Are you passionate about holistic health and wellbeing? Do you have a flair and proven background in creating engaging, beautiful, original and inspiring social media content? The Tree of Life Centre is a well-established and much-loved complementary health centre and yoga studio in Hove. We are looking for a freelance social media content creator to manage our Facebook and Instagram on a monthly retainer basis, creating approximately 2–3 posts per week.
About us:
We're a complementary health and holistic living centre offering therapies including osteopathy, acupuncture, massage and counselling, as well as a full studio schedule of yoga, pilates, workshops and more. We are know for our warm, kind team, down-to-earth approach, and loyal community we have built up over the past 14 years. We have over 500, all-five-star reviews. We're launching a new website in September and want to raise our activity and profile on social media in line with this. We don't currently have a dedicated social media person, and we see real potential here for the right individual to help shape and grow our online presence.
What we're looking for:
- Genuine interest in and understanding of complementary healthcare and holistic living. Ideally someone who already knows and loves Tree of Life, or who would be keen to become part of our community, understand oue values, so they can truly post in our 'voice',
- A relationship builder who's happy to come into the centre sometimes to create content, as well as getting to know our director, managers and practitioners, and talking through what needs promoting each month
- Someone who can create a coherent, varied content structure - showcasing who we are, what we do, what the centre looks and feels like inside, and the values we hold, without falling back on clichéd formats (no "Motivation Monday," "Throwback Thursday" type templates)
- Genuine creativity and sensitivity in how our work and our community are represented
- Ability to create visually compelling, original content (photography/video, not stock imagery)
- No AI-generated content or AI-sounding copy - we are specifically looking for authentic, human-created posts
- A warm, down-to-earth tone of voice - kind and approachable, never preachy
- Based in or near Hove/Brighton preferred, given the in-person element of this role
Requirements
- Proven experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing within the health or wellness sector
- Strong understanding of public relations principles to foster positive community relationships online
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft authentic, motivational messages
- Proficiency in graphic design tools and video editing software is a plus
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to evolving project needs
- Passion for holistic health practices is highly desirable
- Knowledge of platform-specific algorithms and best practices for engagement optimisation
