About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Yarrow Heights School. Whether you already have experience in a school or SEN setting or are looking to begin your career in education, we welcome applicants who are passionate about supporting young people.
In this role, you will support pupils with a range of needs, including autism, SEMH and associated needs. You may work with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, adapting your approach to meet individual learning styles and needs.

Requirements
- Minimum GCSE, or equivalent, grade 4 or above in English and Maths.
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, such as autism, SEMH, and ADHD, is preferred.
- Training in aspects of SEN (e.g. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism) is advantageous.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong listening skills and ability to build rapport with pupils.
- High level of self-motivation and ability to use initiative.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of pupils.

About the Company
Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7–19, local authority funded, SEN day school for children, most of whom are able learners with an EHCP and a diagnosis with ASC and associated needs.
