Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and motivated **Production Assistant** to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in a production, manufacturing, engineering or workshop environment who enjoys practical work and takes pride in producing high-quality results.
As a Production Assistant, you will support our skilled glassblowers throughout the manufacturing process by preparing materials, processing glass components, carrying out finishing work, packing products and assisting with logistics and general workshop activities. Previous experience in the glass industry is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided. Candidates from manufacturing, engineering, warehousing or other technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
- Cutting quartz and borosilicate glass tubing to specification
- Flame polishing, cleaning and preparing finished glass components
- Packing finished products safely for domestic and international shipment
- Receiving, handling and storing raw materials and production supplies
- Supporting warehouse, logistics and dispatch activities
- Carrying out visual quality inspections of finished products
- Preparing products and materials for production
- Assisting skilled glassblowers with general workshop activities
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Following company quality and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Experience in a practical, hands-on role within manufacturing, production, engineering, logistics or a workshop environment
- Good technical understanding and mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good manual dexterity and practical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Understanding of quality control procedures
- Good communication skills in English
- Right to work in the UK.
Work Schedule
- Regular working hours:
- Monday – Friday
- 08:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 17:00 (on Friday only until 12.00)
- No shift work required.
