About Tailfin
Tailfin makes technical, beautifully engineered bikepacking equipment for riders who take their adventures seriously. We've grown from a small workshop 10 years ago, into a major brand competing with the biggest names in the category.
Our strength lies in our products, brand, and content production. We communicate with our worldwide customer base with warm, approachable communication, and we're looking for someone who can help us bring that to life, everywhere our customers meet us.
We're based in Bristol and operate as an in-office team (minimum 3 days per week). We're a close-knit group of 29 who are passionate about bikepacking and outdoor adventure.
The Opportunity
We're hiring an Mid-Weight Artworker to join our marketing team and take ownership of turning our creative and brand guidelines into finished, on-brand assets. You'll work closely with our Head of Design, Graphic Designer, CRM, and Studio Photographer, picking up the production work that's currently a bottleneck: building and designing more of our marketing emails, supporting photo editing around product launches, and helping us push a consistent, elevated brand across our website and beyond.
This is a good opportunity for someone who loves the craft of clean, accurate, on-brand production work and wants to grow inside a fast-moving, ambitious brand.
What You'll Do
- Working with our CRM manager to design and build email campaigns and flows in Klaviyo, to brief and to brand guidelines.
- Editing and retouching product and campaign photography, particularly around launches, working closely with our Studio Photographer.
- Producing and adapting web assets - banners, landing pages, product page graphics - in line with brand guidelines.
- Resizing and adapting campaign assets across channels: social, paid, email, web, and occasional print/event.
- Maintaining consistency with Tailfin's brand guidelines across every touchpoint, flagging inconsistencies as you spot them.
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); with confident, accurate photo retouching as absolute must. We'll judge more on talent than experience.
- Meticulous attention to detail - you can follow brand guidelines precisely and spot when something's off.
- Comfortable managing several concurrent projects and deadlines without dropping quality.
- Good instincts for layout, typography and image selection, even if you're not the one originating concepts - especially when sifting through image albums selects of bikepacking adventure photography.
- A genuine interest in learning email marketing tools (we use Klaviyo) if you haven't used them before.
- A portfolio that shows clean, accurate production work - email, web or campaign adaptation experience is a big plus.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Bristol - this role requires minimum 3 days per week in our Bristol office
Highly Desirable
- A few years experience working in a similar artworking/production role - genuinely nice to have, not a barrier to applying if you've got the talent and portfolio.
- Premium/technical product experience - outdoor, sports, lifestyle, or technical brands with longer consideration cycles and educated customers
- Genuine passion for cycling/bikepacking/outdoor adventure - understanding our customers from personal experience is invaluable
- Experience working to brand guidelines for a DTC or ecommerce brand.
- Experience using Figma for team collaboration.
- Familiarity with Klaviyo or another ESP, and/or basic HTML/CSS for email.
- Understanding of premium brand positioning - how to market quality without discounting
The Team & Environment
You'll join our 9-person marketing team and work closely with experienced designers. Expect autonomy, fast pace, and a learning environment.
Working arrangement: Minimum 3 days per week in our Bristol office (Tue/Wed/Thu)
