Overview
Adsborough Builders are seeking an experienced and reliable Bricklayer / General Builder to join our team working on extensions, renovations and new build projects across Taunton, Somerset and the surrounding areas.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bricklaying and general building work, be capable of working independently, and possess their own van, tools and equipment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and can maintain high standards of workmanship on site.
Day rate to be discussed with the Director based on experience and ability
Duties
- Bricklaying for extensions, new builds and alterations
- Setting out and constructing foundations, blockwork and brickwork
- Building cavity walls, retaining walls and garden walls
- Installing lintels and carrying out structural alterations
- Concreting, drainage and groundwork where required
- Assisting with general building works including demolition, roofing and finishing works
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
- Working alongside other trades to deliver projects efficiently
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with current building regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' bricklaying/general building experience
- Own van, tools and equipment essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and building practices
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working on extensions, renovations and residential projects desirable
