Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sand Blast Operative / Blast Cleaner to join our manufacturing team. This role involves preparing and cleaning metal surfaces using abrasive blasting techniques to ensure products meet quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and experience in fabrication or warehouse environments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a dynamic industrial setting.
Duties
- Operate abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces of metal components
- Set up and adjust blast cabinets and equipment according to specifications
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring adherence to standards
- Maintain and clean blasting equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Maintain organised work areas and adhere to production schedules
- Assist in general warehouse tasks
- Basic mechanical knowledge with experience using hand tools, power tools is desirable.
- Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team within a manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks as needed
