Job Title: Kitchen Assistant (Part-Time, Permanent) – Nursery Setting

Salary: £12.75 per hour
We are currently looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Young and Smart Nursery in Lewisham on a permanent basis.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
We are open to considering both year-round and term-time-only applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with food preparation and meal service for children
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
- Washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment
- Supporting the cook and wider nursery team as needed
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety and food hygiene standards
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a nursery/school setting is preferred
- Previous experience working in a nursery kitchen, school kitchen, or similar childcare environment is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene practices
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable (training can be provided)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Good communication skills
