We are looking for a caring, reliable and proactive General Nursery Assistant to join our nursery team.
This is a hands-on support role focused on helping children with their daily routines and assisting our teachers and practitioners to ensure the nursery runs smoothly each day. The successful candidate will support children's wellbeing, encourage independence, and help create a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all children.
Alongside supporting children and classroom activities, the role includes assisting with housekeeping duties and providing kitchen support when required, including covering absences or supporting busy periods within the housekeeping and kitchen teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with daily routines including mealtimes, toileting, handwashing, dressing and transitions throughout the day.
- Assist teachers and practitioners in setting up activities and learning environments.
- Supervise and engage positively with children during indoor and outdoor play.
- Help maintain a safe, clean and organised nursery environment.
- Support housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, tidying play areas and preparing rooms for daily use.
- Assist the kitchen team with food preparation, serving meals, clearing tables and maintaining hygiene standards when required.
- Provide cover and additional support to housekeeping and kitchen staff during absences, holidays or busy periods.
- Follow all nursery policies, safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements and food hygiene standards.
- Work collaboratively as part of a friendly and supportive nursery team.

Pay: £20,280.00 per year
