Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service delivery
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications and standards
- Oversee food safety protocols, hygiene practices, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control waste to optimise operational efficiency
- Develop new recipes and menu items in collaboration with management
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and performance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in maintaining a positive, organised, and productive kitchen atmosphere
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a busy hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Excellent culinary skills with a flair for creativity in menu development
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management
