Join Our Quality Team
We are looking for a motivated and practical Quality Control Technician to join our Quality team, supporting the manufacture of high-quality wax blends and specialty products used across a wide range of applications including Pharmaceutical Starting Materials, Flexible Packaging, Protective Surface Coatings, Candle manufacture and Histology waxes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in manufacturing quality control, particularly where physical testing and product performance are more important than operating highly instrumented analytical laboratories. Full training will be provided on our products, test methods and quality systems.
The Role
Working as part of our shift operation, you will be responsible for ensuring that raw materials, in-process products and finished goods consistently meet our quality standards before release to customers.
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out routine physical testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
- Assessing characteristics such as appearance, colour, penetration, hardness, melting point, viscosity and other product performance properties.
- Performing in-process quality inspections to support manufacturing operations.
- Recording and reviewing quality data accurately.
- Working closely with Production to investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Ensuring testing is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities within the Quality department.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and laboratory organisation.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in manufacturing, quality control or industrial production environments.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience in a Quality Control, Manufacturing or Production environment.
- Practical experience carrying out physical testing of industrial materials.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a production team.
- Good numeracy and computer skills.
- A willingness to work shifts.
- A positive attitude and a desire to learn.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Waxes, oils, lubricants or chemical manufacturing.
- Industrial product testing.
- ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Manufacturing process support.
Applicants with practical manufacturing quality experience are encouraged to apply even if they have limited experience with sophisticated analytical instrumentation. Similarly, applications from candidates withing to start a career path within the industrial manufacturing sector will also be considered as full training will be given.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
