The Role
The post holder collects blood samples by venepuncture or capillary route from Locality patients within the Health Centre, GP Practices and Hospital.
In this key role, you will:
Adherence to NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures relevant to all areas of work and regulatory requirements. These would include the following but may not be limited:

Health and Safety Policy in particular Infection Control and needle stick injury.

NHS Lanarkshire policy on hospital acquired infection.
-
Patient Confidentiality Policy.
-
Risk Management.
-
Adherence to NHSL policies and current data protection legislation.
What You'll Bring:

A certificate in venepuncture is essential.
-
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required.
-
Manual dexterity essential.
-
Require intensive one-to-one supervised training for an initial period of three months and regular updating of skills thereafter.
