Fire Protection Services Ltd (FPS) is an established and respected specialist in the design, installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of residential and domestic fire sprinkler systems throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced AutoCAD Technician who is looking to develop into a Residential Fire Sprinkler Designer.
If you already have experience designing fire sprinkler systems, we would also love to hear from you. Salaries are negotiable for fully trained and experienced sprinkler designers.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong AutoCAD experience who enjoys technical design work and wants to develop a long-term career in the fire protection industry.
You'll receive structured training from experienced sprinkler designers, learning how to design residential and domestic fire sprinkler systems in accordance with BS 9251, building regulations and industry best practice.
Your Responsibilities
- Produce accurate AutoCAD drawings.
- Prepare residential fire sprinkler layouts.
- Assist with sprinkler system design calculations.
- Develop sprinkler pipework layouts and installation drawings.
- Produce construction drawings and design revisions.
- Liaise with project managers, surveyors and installation teams.
- Coordinate designs with architects, M&E consultants and house builders.
- Review architectural drawings.
- Produce as-built drawings.
- Learn sprinkler hydraulic calculations and water supply assessments.
- Develop technical knowledge of BS 9251 and residential fire sprinkler design.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent AutoCAD experience.
- Experience producing technical construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Full UK driving licence.
