Location: 350 Bournville Lane Birmingham B30 1QY
We have saved you a space on our Committee
We are looking for two enthusiastic volunteer Bournville Village Trust (BVT) tenants to join our Customer and Neighbourhoods Committee. A unique opportunity to influence decisions and help shape the future of your community. Whether you are interested in housing quality, repairs, or community development, your lived experience is exactly what we need to build a positive and inclusive future together.
All our tenants and their household members over the age of 18 are welcome to apply. We provide you with one-to-one support and group training throughout your time with us and cover any out-of-pocket expenses such as travel and care.
We actively encourage residents from all our Shenley, Nechells, and Telford neighbourhoods to apply.
What is the Customer and Neighbourhoods Committee?
The committee plays a vital role in connecting residents with our Board of Trustees. As a member, you’ll help make sure that customer voices remain at the heart of everything we do:
In this role you will:
- Help shape how we deliver services such as housing and repairs.
- Review customer feedback and performance data to identify improvements.
- Ensure BVT meets national consumer standards and remains a safe place to live.
- Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in every decision.
Why get involved?
You don’t need to be a housing expert – just someone who cares about their community. Current committee member Dean O’Leary shares says the experience has given him” so much more than he thought,” including:
- Personal Development: Building confidence and learning new skills, such as understanding reports and decision-making processes.
- Networking opportunities: Meeting like-minded people from a wide range of backgrounds who share your passion.
- A Sense of Purpose: Playing a meaningful role in shaping the future of Bournville for generations to come.
