Experience Leakage Technician - South East Water
Find and fix hidden leakage in one of the UK’s most critical water networks
Purpose and Scope of the Role
Tetra Tech is seeking Leakage Technicians to support our South East Water contract across Sussex. You will investigate clean water networks to identify leakage and unaccounted-for consumption, using specialist techniques to locate issues, support repairs and help the client meet performance targets. Working with field teams, maintenance crews and digital reporting tools, you will deliver accurate findings, step testing, pressure zero testing and detailed network data capture.
Your Impact in this Position
You will play a direct role in reducing water loss, improving network performance and supporting a more efficient water supply. In the short term, you will strengthen your technical capability and build experience across active field operations. Over time, you will gain exposure to complex leakage work, develop stronger asset knowledge and progress within a technically focused team delivering important environmental outcomes.
Core Capabilities
Leakage Investigation

Carry out detailed surveys to identify leakage, unaccounted-for consumption and network anomalies using recognised field techniques.
Technical Field Skills

Use correlation, ground microphones, utility tracing, noise logging, asset surveying, step testing and pressure zero testing effectively and competently.
Reporting and Data Accuracy

Record findings clearly and promptly using data collection applications, ensuring information is accurate, traceable and actionable.
Teamwork and Operational Support

Support maintenance teams and work collaboratively with colleagues to promote repairs and maintain delivery standards.
Safety and Professional Conduct

Work safely in all conditions, including nights where required, and follow site, hygiene and operational procedures at all times.
Qualifications and Training
Essential: Prior water network experience, competent IT skills and a full UK driving licence.
Desirable: EUSR Water Hygiene, EUSR DOMS and NRSWA Unit 2 accreditation.
Work Pattern and Location
This is a field-based role covering Sussex, working Monday - Friday, 40hrs. You must be willing to work across the area, outdoors and in all weather conditions, with occasional night work. Hybrid or remote working is not suitable for this position.
