Hazelmere Nursing Home is a compassionate and dedicated care facility that strives to provide the highest standard of care to our residents. We are currently looking for a motivated and reliable Weekend Housekeeper to join our team and contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.
Role Overview:
As a Weekend Housekeeper, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our nursing home. You will work closely with other members of the team to ensure all areas, including resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and kitchens, are kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Your work will directly contribute to the comfort and well-being of the people we care for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitise resident rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and communal areas to the highest standards.
- Maintain and clean kitchen and dining areas, ensuring all food preparation surfaces are hygienic.
- Change bed linens and make beds according to nursing home policies.
- Handle laundry tasks, including washing, drying, and folding resident clothing and bedding.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stored safely and used appropriately.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the management team.
- Assist with setting up dining areas and serving meals as needed.
- Follow infection control procedures and health & safety guidelines at all times.
Key Requirements:
- Previous housekeeping experience, ideally in a care home or healthcare setting (not essential).
- A positive, can-do attitude with a strong focus on quality and detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a caring attitude towards residents.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Enhanced DBS check will be required.
