Our client is a well-established engineering and fabrication business with an excellent reputation for producing high-quality fabricated components for a range of industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit multiple experienced MIG Welders to join their expanding team.
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, offering the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful probationary period.
Position Summary
As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded fabrications from engineering drawings, ensuring all work meets company quality standards while working safely and efficiently within a busy manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced welders looking for stable employment, with the option of either day shifts or permanent nights following a successful temporary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out high-quality MIG welding on mild steel components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Prepare materials and components prior to welding.
- Produce accurate welds to company quality standards.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets specification.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets.
- Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.
- Report any quality or production issues to supervision.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous MIG welding experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good fabrication and assembly skills.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of health and safety within a workshop environment.
Desirable
- Fabrication experience.
- Welding qualifications or coded welding experience.
- Experience working with a variety of steel fabrications.
- Overhead crane or FLT experience.
