Role Purpose
The Site Supervisor (Decarbonisation) is responsible for supervising the safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery of retrofit works on site. The role supports the Site Manager and project team by coordinating daily site activities, monitoring workmanship, and ensuring energy efficiency and building improvement measures are installed in accordance with approved designs, PAS 2030 requirements, programme, and company standards.
Acting as the day-to-day site supervisory lead, the Site Supervisor assists with coordinating subcontractors, supporting resident interfaces, promoting safe systems of work, and maintaining quality checks to help ensure retrofit projects achieve intended performance outcomes while minimising disruption and risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily retrofit works on site in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and project programmes.
- Support compliance with PAS 2030, Building Regulations, health and safety legislation, and company procedures.
- Monitor day-to-day delivery of works including insulation, ventilation, heating upgrades, renewables, and fabric improvements.
- Coordinate site operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain quality, productivity, sequencing, and safe working practices.
- Ensure tasks are carried out in line with risk assessments, method statements, permits, inductions, and toolbox talk briefings.
- Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks to confirm installations meet design intent, manufacturer guidance, and required standards.
- Escalate technical, quality, safety, programme, or resident-related issues to the Site Manager, Contracts Manager, or project team as appropriate.
- Support access arrangements, phasing, and resident liaison to minimise disruption in occupied properties.
- dentify, record, report, and help resolve defects, non-conformances, and variations promptly.
- Monitor progress against planned activities and report risks, delays, or resource issues to site or project management.
- Check works are undertaken in a way that helps prevent unintended consequences such as damp, condensation, poor ventilation, or overheating.
- Maintain accurate site records including daily progress updates, photographs, permits, inspections, and completion information.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure completed works are ready for review and sign-off.
- Promote good practice in sustainability, waste reduction, housekeeping, and environmental management on site.
- Deliver or support site inductions, toolbox talks, and briefings to promote safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision
- CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS), or SMSTS where required by project or client requirements
- Scaffold Inspection
- 3 Day First Aid at Work
- Asbestos Awareness
- Gold CSCS Card
- Proven experience in a site supervisory role within construction, housing, maintenance, or retrofit works
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and requirements
- Experience supervising retrofit works under PAS 2030 or similar quality and compliance frameworks
- Strong knowledge of electrical, heating and insulation installations
- Strong communication, organisation, and team supervision skills
Additional Requirements

- Ability to travel to operational sites as required
