Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and reliable 3.5 tonne recovery driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a 3.5 tonne flatbed recovery vehicle to assist with vehicle recoveries. Your enthusiasm and strong communication skills will ensure efficient service delivery, exceptional customer interactions, and smooth coordination with dispatch. We offer a on call rota of nightshift callouts being paid at competitive rates.
Duties
- Safely operate a 3.5 tonne flatbed recovery vehicle to assist with vehicle recoveries.
- Respond promptly to recovery calls, providing professional and courteous customer service during each interaction
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety and operational readiness
- Assist with loading, unloading, and securing vehicles or cargo in the warehouse or on-site locations
- Maintain accurate logs of recoveries, deliveries, and vehicle inspections for compliance and reporting purposes
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate recovery operations and resolve issues efficiently
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues and perform basic maintenance or report repairs as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with delivery or recovery vehicles
- Valid UK driver’s license or equivalent certification for operating 3.5 tonne vehicles. No DD or DR codes on license due to insurance restrictions
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or recovery driver is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform simple repairs or maintenance
- Experience towing trailers
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Experience operating flatbed trucks or similar recovery vehicles is preferred
