Support Services Administration Officer

Salary: £13.10
Full/Part-time: 20 hours per week –working pattern to be agreed at offer stage
Holidays: 5 weeks plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff)
Office Base/workplace: The Office, St Barnabas’ Church, Lovely Lane, Warrington, WA5 1TY (possible home working for some hours negotiable once candidate is established in role). The successful candidates will require their own transport with expensed travel to off-site meetings.

Introduction
The Parish of Warrington consists of 12 church's in the deanery that have united to form a larger single parish. With more effective administration and support structures to support local churches, enabling them to focus on local ministry and mission. Our vision statement is Renew the Church, Love Warrington and Grow the Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
Since becoming a larger single parish, we have been developing our Support Services Team and the infrastructure within it.
This is an exciting and challenging role for an experienced administrator, who is dynamic and will enjoy using their skills to create can strengthen processes.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Administration Officer to join our Support Services Team. As the Administration Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day management of the parish administration. Our aim is for the Administration Officer to relieve the administrative burden, currently shouldered by individual parishes and to enable the role-specific tasks to be completed more efficiently and so free people up for mission and ministry.
You will be expected to provide operational excellence in line with best practices and agreed protocols, ensuring seamless administration support; promote a positive work culture that encourages growth and development.

This is a new role and as such may be subject to change as new initiatives emerge and develop over time.
Main Responsibilities:
To provide the administration for the:
· Parish of Warrington PCC meetings and APCM meetings
· PCC policies
· Electoral Roll
· Enquiries from clergy, churches, worshipping communities, external parties
· Clergy diary management for occasional offices
· Booking of occasional offices - TBC
· Reporting to the PCC the work of the Support Services Team
· Procuring/arranging courses eg Alpha, lent, stewardship, parish-wide events
· Ensuring all churches are compliant with building safety regulations and providing support and advice to wardens
· Being the main point of contact for the PoW Insurer and tracking claims
· Providing support for maintenance activities across the Parish
· Central purchasing
· Co-ordination of contracts
· Populating and maintaining Churchsuite
· Keeping up-to-date the Contact Management System
· Buildings compliance tracker for all annual building checks
· Preparation of Faculty submissions including tracking and liaison
· Assistance with ad hoc applications for grants and funding
Furthermore,
· Contribute to efficient administration and shared file systems, for example, Microsoft 365 including Sharepoint
· undergo training as appropriate, especially in the use of bespoke software packages
· be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of effective (electronic and paper) filing systems for all your designated areas of work
General
· Take responsibility for your own health and safety
· Comply with Diocesan safeguarding policy
· Undertake any safeguarding training as required
· Comply with UK data protection laws
