About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate Registered Manager to lead and manage our 7-bed residential service in Reigate, Surrey.

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring that it operates safely, effectively and in accordance with CQC requirements, relevant legislation, organisational policies and best practice.
We are looking for someone who can provide strong leadership, establish clear expectations and develop a positive culture of accountability, consistency and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
As Registered Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing effective leadership and day-to-day management of the service.
- Maintaining high standards of person-centred care and support.
- Ensuring the service meets CQC regulatory requirements and is inspection-ready.
- Promoting individuals' independence, dignity, choice, rights and wellbeing.
- Ensuring care and support plans, risk assessments and associated documentation are accurate, current and regularly reviewed.
- Ensuring staff understand and consistently follow individuals' agreed care plans, routines, risk management strategies and professional guidance.
- Recruiting, inducting, supervising and developing a competent and motivated staff team.
- Managing staff performance and addressing poor practice promptly and appropriately.
- Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and effective rota management.
- Conducting regular staff supervisions, appraisals, observations and competency assessments.
- Ensuring mandatory training and staff development requirements are maintained.
- Monitoring the quality and accuracy of daily records, incident reports, medication records, financial records and other service documentation.
- Ensuring incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns and complaints are appropriately reported, investigated and followed up.
- Managing safeguarding matters in accordance with local procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining appropriate oversight of individuals' finances where this forms part of their support.
- Monitoring health and safety, infection prevention, fire safety and environmental standards.
- Undertaking regular audits and implementing improvement plans where required.
- Working collaboratively with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, commissioners and other professionals involved in individuals' care.
- Leading reviews and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings.
- Promoting positive behaviour support and ensuring agreed strategies are implemented consistently.
- Ensuring staff maintain appropriate professional boundaries while supporting individuals to exercise choice and independence.
- Managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Providing regular reports and updates to senior management.
- Participating in the on-call arrangement where required.
About You
We are looking for a Registered Manager who is visible, organised and confident in leading a service.
You should be comfortable maintaining high standards while supporting and developing your team. You will need to recognise poor practice, address concerns appropriately and ensure improvements are sustained.
You will ideally have:
- Previous management experience within adult social care.
- Experience managing or deputising within a residential or supported-living service.
- A strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and the Health and Social Care Act.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and duty of care.
- Experience managing staff performance, supervision and development.
- Experience with care planning, risk assessment and quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of person-centred practice.
- Confidence managing incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns.
- Excellent written documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work effectively with families, commissioners and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Experience managing staff rotas and ensuring safe staffing levels.
- A proactive approach to auditing, compliance and service improvement.
- The ability to lead by example and create a positive, accountable staff culture.
Qualifications
Essential/Desirable:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an equivalent recognised qualification, or willingness to work towards this where appropriate.
- Relevant Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care.
- Management experience within an adult social care setting.
- Good knowledge of CQC requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Full UK driving licence – [essential/desirable].
- Experience supporting individuals with [insert client group, e.g. learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, complex needs or behaviours of concern] would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be expected to meet the requirements to become the CQC Registered Manager for the service.

Above all, we are looking for someone who will take genuine ownership of the service and continue to build it.
You will be expected to maintain clear oversight of what is happening within the home, support and develop your staff team, ensure concerns are addressed promptly and maintain consistently high standards of care and documentation.
Be able to increase occupancy
You should be approachable to individuals, staff, families and professionals while also being confident enough to challenge poor practice and hold people accountable when standards are not being met.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone who is organised, dependable and committed to providing a safe, well-managed and genuinely person-centred service.
