We are recruiting a nursery cook to join our friendly team.
The working hours are 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday. The position will be over the full year (51 weeks per year), excluding week closed over Christmas period and bank holidays.
The shift times will be 8-2pm, Monday - Friday.
The successful candidate must be able to prepare a variety of home cooked meals following weekly menus, providing a well balanced diet for all children following our healthy eating initiatives and government guidelines and meeting food safety standards.
We have a fully functional kitchen onsite. We expect the candidate to prepare meals for young children and have knowledge of catering for babies, as well as a range of dietary requirements and allergies.
The role will include completing documentation using Better Food, Safer Business and maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the kitchen. Meeting standards and maintaining our 5 star environmental health award.
The role also includes updating menus, creating menus for special events and festivals and overall management of the kitchen.
All candidates must have Food Hygiene training or be prepared to carry out any essential training to support professional development and any mandatory training required. We will provide any relevant training as required.
The position is also subject to DBS checks and being registered on the update service. This will be completed before start date, if required. It will also be dependent upon suitable references rec
