- Shape and influence a brand new underwriting analytics capability at NFU Mutual
-
Build advanced analytical models that directly support underwriting decisions and customer outcomes
-
Hybrid 80% homeworking and 20% from Stratford Upon Avon
Join NFU Mutual's newly established underwriting analytics capability, where you will play a key role in building analytical and data science models that support underwriting decisions across the business. This is a highly technical, hands on role focused on model development rather than reporting or dashboard production.
Working as part of a growing specialist team, you will lead and develop complex underwriting analytics, create robust and explainable models, and turn complex data into meaningful insight that supports underwriting strategy, risk appetite and business performance. You will work closely with underwriting, pricing, data and technology stakeholders, helping to improve decision making and deliver measurable value across personal and commercial lines.
You will contribute to fraud, risk appetite and risk classification modelling, support the development of analytical governance and data standards, and help shape how this new function evolves.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford Upon Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.
You are a commercially minded analytics professional who combines strong stakeholder engagement with effective communication and the confidence to influence a range of underwriting, pricing, data and technology stakeholders. You bring a learning mindset, thrive on innovation, remain inquisitive when exploring complex challenges and adapt quickly to changing business needs. You are comfortable challenging thinking, solving problems creatively, taking accountability for outcomes and building collaborative relationships that help turn analytical insight into business value.
To join NFU Mutual, you’ll also bring
-
General insurance, underwriting analytics or data science experience within a corporate environment (highly desirable)
-
SQL, SAS or equivalent query writing capability together with strong Python or R modelling expertise
-
Experience building statistical, predictive related analytical models using complex datasets
-
Data engineering capability and experience working with analytical tools such as Power BI
-
Experience delivering data driven insight and model based decision support in a regulated environment
