Paragon is recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation for an experienced Renewables Surveyor to support the delivery of domestic Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) and low-carbon heating projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled surveyor or experienced renewable heating professional to play a key role in designing sustainable heating solutions. You'll be responsible for carrying out detailed property surveys, producing compliant heating system designs, and supporting the successful delivery of renewable heating installations.

The Role
As a Renewables Surveyor, you'll carry out detailed property surveys and design domestic heating systems, with a particular focus on Air Source Heat Pump installations. You'll assess each property's suitability, identify installation risks and site constraints, and provide the technical information needed to ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and right first time.
Working closely with installation teams, contractors, and customers, you'll ensure designs are practical, compliant, and tailored to each property's requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive property surveys for domestic Air Source Heat Pump installations.
- Produce accurate heating system designs and technical specifications.
- Complete heat loss assessments and low-temperature heating system designs.
- Assess installation risks, site constraints, and regulatory compliance.
- Support projects involving renewable and low-carbon heating technologies, with knowledge of gas, oil, and electric heating systems considered advantageous.
- Produce clear technical reports and installation documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to installation teams throughout project delivery.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, subcontractors, and operational teams to ensure installations meet the highest quality standards.
- Support quality assurance processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective heating solutions while providing an excellent customer experience.
About You
We're looking for a technically competent professional with experience in domestic heating or renewable energy who enjoys problem-solving and delivering high-quality work.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience surveying domestic properties for heating or renewable energy installations.
- Strong technical knowledge of Air Source Heat Pump systems and domestic heating design.
- Experience producing heating system designs and technical specifications.
- Ability to identify suitable heating solutions across a range of technologies.
- Experience assessing installation risks, compliance requirements, and site-specific challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications
Ideally, you'll hold:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
- Low Temperature Heating Design qualification.
- ACS qualifications, including CCN1 and CENWAT (or equivalent).
Additional qualifications or experience in renewable, oil-fired, or other low-carbon heating technologies would be advantageous.
Training & Development
Applications are welcomed from experienced renewable heating installers who have extensive practical knowledge of Air Source Heat Pump systems but may not yet hold a Low Temperature Heating Design qualification. For the right candidate, funding and support will be provided to achieve this qualification, offering an excellent opportunity to further develop your career within the renewable energy sector.
