An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and committed Principal Teacher of Science to join our dedicated team on a job share basis.
Crieff High School currently has a roll of approximately 630 young people. Working together, we strive to ensure that every learner is supported and challenged to be the best they can be. Located in the heart of Strathearn, Crieff High School is part of the vibrant Strathearn Community Campus. The campus brings together a range of partners, including Live Active Leisure and Culture Perth and Kinross, creating extensive opportunities for collaboration, learning and enrichment, for both pupils and staff. Our catchment area encompasses a wide geographical area of stunning countryside and benefits from excellent transport links, with Perth and Stirling both within a 30–40 minute commute.

The successful candidate will hold appropriate teaching qualifications and be fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). They will be an inspiring classroom practitioner with a thorough understanding of effective pedagogical approaches that engage, challenge and support learners to achieve their full potential.
As Principal Teacher of Science, the postholder will provide strategic leadership across the Science Faculty, promoting high-quality learning and teaching, curriculum innovation and continuous improvement. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to raise attainment and achievement, ensure a consistent and inclusive learning experience, and support the professional development of staff within the faculty.
The successful candidate will demonstrate high expectations for all learners and a strong commitment to equity, inclusion and excellence. They will be skilled in using data and self-evaluation to inform improvement planning and will have the ability to motivate and support both young people and colleagues to achieve ambitious outcomes.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential. The successful applicant will foster positive and respectful relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers and partner agencies, contributing to a culture where all members of the school community feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
