We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
At UHS, we’re committed to providing a flexible working environment where possible. Whether you are balancing family, study, or your wellbeing with your career, we want to support you so you can help our patients.
At UHS, we proudly champion individuality, recognising that outstanding care is only possible with a diverse, inclusive team. We’re committed to creating an anti-racist, anti-discriminatory environment where everyone feels valued, safe, and empowered to make a meaningful impact in our communities. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in building a healthcare community where everyone can belong, thrive, and contribute.
What we're looking for:
The successful candidate will be qualified in a recognised professional accountancy qualification or an equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience in financial management with significant experience in a finance environment, including management accounting.
You will know about designing advanced spreadsheets and databases and have experience in financial project management/financial appraisal,
and forecasting.
The work will require you to work independently with senior staff across a number of disciplines, so the ability to communicate effectively and professionally is essential.
The successful applicant will have a flexible approach and enjoy working in a fast-paced setting where they'll meet a different challenge every day.
What you'll do:
As a core member of the finance subsidiary team, you will:

- Ensure all statutory and legal requirements for the Companies Act 2006 and for subsidiaries of NHS Trusts are met.
- Ensure that the Group accounts, VAT and all inter-company recharges are managed correctly.
- Establish and maintain a sound financial base to support the financial implications of service changes.
- Manage, on a day-to-day basis, other members within the Subsidiary Accounting team.
