AVW Fabrications Ltd is a family run business established in 1988 and located in Leicester with close links to the M1, M69 and A46. We specialise in laser cutting and sheet metal fabrication and pride ourselves on excellent customer service.
The Company is looking for an individual to fulfil our CAD Draughtsman/Estimator role to join our growing team who displays an enthusiastic positive attitude and can work from both set instructions and their own initiative.
Main Job Purpose
To produce technical drawings and programme machines for customer orders in order to ensure customer requirements are met in an accurate and timely manner.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Producing technical drawings from samples or rough sketches to be programmed
- Programming machinery ready for production
- Producing flat form drawings from customer drawings
- Producing quotations for customer requirements
- Communicating with customers on bespoke designs
- To maintain and manage a portfolio of CAD drawings for all standard order parts.
- Liaising with suppliers to discuss products, price and availability and raising purchase orders when required
- Communicating with other staff members effectively
- Adhering to health and safety regulations.
- All other duties as required that are considered to be a reasonable employer request.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience using CAD
- Experience with nesting and machine programming preferable
- Experience designing sheet metal products
- Be able to prioritise workload in order to meet customer needs
- Methodical approach to work
- Accuracy with numbers
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Effective IT skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer along with AutoCAD.

Full time: Monday to Thursday 07:30am until 16:30pm Friday 07:30am until 14:00pm
