Chiltern Surface Co is a new premium exterior surface cleaning and restoration company based in Buckinghamshire. We look after patios, driveways, roofs and exterior surfaces for homes where standards matter.
Although the business is young, we are building it with serious long-term plans. We are now looking for the right person to join us at an early stage and help shape the way the company operates as it grows.
Job Summary
This is a hands-on role. You will be working on site, completing exterior cleaning and restoration work to a high standard, supporting the smooth running of jobs, and helping manage a part time operative who is currently working with us.
The role would suit someone practical, reliable and ambitious. We need someone who is confident working outdoors, takes pride in doing things properly, and understands that presentation, care and professionalism matter just as much as getting the job done.
This is not a big-company salaried role at this stage. It is an early-stage opportunity for someone who can see the potential in joining a growing business from the beginning. Pay will be agreed based on experience and jobs completed, with the intention that the role grows as the company grows.
The role will involve:
- Carrying out premium exterior surface cleaning and restoration work.
- Supporting the company owner on site and helping jobs run smoothly from start to finish.
- Taking responsibility for equipment, preparation, site presentation and clean-down.
- Helping guide and manage a younger operative on working days.
- Following agreed processes for photos, customer care, safety and job completion.
- Representing the company professionally.
- Working with care around clients' homes, gardens, vehicles and exterior finishes.
- Lead and supervise exterior surface care operations, including cleaning, sealing, and surface preparation.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments as necessary.
- Coordinate with team members to plan daily tasks and optimise workflow efficiency.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and materials in good working order; perform routine maintenance as required.
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff or apprentices in the safe use of equipment and best practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to health & safety standards in outdoor environments.
- This role offers a dynamic working environment for individuals passionate about outdoor maintenance who are eager to lead projects from start to finish while ensuring quality standards are upheld at all times.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and professional.
- Physically fit and happy working outdoors in all seasons.
- Practical, hands-on and calm under pressure.
- Comfortable taking responsibility rather than waiting to be told every small step.
- Good with people and respectful around customers' homes.
- Able to work to a premium standard, not a rushed "get in and get out" approach.
- Interested in growing with a business rather than just picking up occasional labouring work.
- Ideally experienced in exterior cleaning, pressure washing, softwashing, landscaping, property maintenance, roofing, drainage, construction, or another practical trade.
You will need:
- A full UK driving licence.
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Confidence using tools and equipment, or the willingness to learn properly.
- A sensible approach to health and safety.
- The ability to work as part of a small team
Pay: £200.00-£400.00 per day
