Salary: £12.71 PH
Shifts: Flexible rota including days, evenings, weekends, waking nights where required
About Lime Tree Lodge
Lime Tree Lodge is opening a new supported living home for adults aged 18 to 65 with mental health needs. We provide person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, safety and positive wellbeing.
We are opening a new 4 bed home by Aylesbury Town Centre.
We are seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Support Workers to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people who may be living with mental health conditions, trauma, anxiety, depression, psychosis, schizophrenia, autism, ADHD, substance misuse issues or other complex needs.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to residents within the home and local community. You will support individuals to build confidence, maintain independence, manage daily routines and work towards their personal goals.
You will be expected to develop positive professional relationships, encourage choice and independence, lone working, maintain appropriate boundaries and respond calmly and safely to any concerns or incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support in line with each resident’s support plan, risk assessment and individual goals.
- Support residents with daily living skills, including meal planning, cooking, cleaning, shopping, budgeting and attending appointments.
- Offer emotional support, reassurance and encouragement to residents experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Support residents to access education, training, employment, hobbies, social activities and community services.
- Encourage independence while ensuring residents remain safe and supported.
- Support residents to manage their medication in accordance with agreed support plans and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily notes, handovers, incident reports and other required documentation.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns, changes in mental health, risks, incidents or wellbeing concerns promptly to senior staff or management.
- Work professionally with families, social workers, mental health teams, commissioners and other professionals where appropriate.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive and recovery-focused environment.
- Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries and compliance with company policies at all times.
- Take part in team meetings, supervision, training and ongoing professional development.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working in a support worker, care worker, mental health support worker or similar role.
- Experience supporting adults with mental health needs.
- A good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, professional boundaries and person-centred care.
- Ability to remain calm, patient and professional in challenging or emotionally demanding situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to write clear and accurate daily notes and reports.
- A positive, caring and non-judgmental approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to complete mandatory training and follow policies and procedures.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience supporting people with complex mental health needs, including psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, anxiety, depression or trauma-related difficulties.
- Experience of supporting people with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, substance misuse concerns or behaviours that challenge.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards this.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
