The Role
Nest is seeking a Store Manager to take full ownership of the day-to-day running of our self-storage facility. This is a standalone, store-based role where you will be the sole member of staff on site with support from a wider management team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and driving the growth of the business.
The role with Nest is currently a lone working position the role suits someone genuinely self-motivated, disciplined and proactive, someone who can take ownership of the store, manage their own day, and keep standards high without close supervision. In return, you'll have real autonomy and the scope to run the store as if it were your own. As the facility grows you will be involved with the recruitment of additional team members.
What You'll Be Doing
· Take full ownership of the day-to-day management of the store, ensuring consistently high standards
· Confidently run the store on your own, following lone-working procedures to keep yourself and the site safe and secure
· Ensure the store is clean, secure, safe and professionally presented at all times
· Respond to customer enquiries in person, by phone and by email
· Deliver engaging store tours and guide customers to the right storage solution
· Uphold and continuously improve operational and security procedures to protect customers and their belongings
Sales & Commercial Performance
· Own the store's occupancy and revenue targets
· Manage the full leasing journey, including rental agreements, renewals and payments
· Identify opportunities to upsell services and optimise store performance
· Maintain accurate customer records and store systems
· Collaborate with the central sales team to maximise enquiry conversion performance
Working Independently & Reporting
· Manage your own workload and prioritise effectively to keep the store running smoothly single-handedly
· Provide regular performance reporting and updates to the Area Manager and wider board on store performance, sales and operations
Local Marketing & Community Engagement
· Lead delivery of local marketing initiatives in partnership with the central team
· Build relationships with local businesses, trades and community groups
· Identify partnerships, sponsorships and local events to grow brand visibility
· Generate customer reviews and liaise with customers to develop valuable case studies
· Keep in-store marketing materials and POS aligned with brand standards
· Capture and share local marketing activity and insights with the Area Manager
What We're Looking For
· Proven experience in a store or branch management role within a customer-facing environment (retail, hospitality, self-storage or similar)
· Comfortable and confident lone working, able to take full ownership of the store and manage your own workload independently for extended periods
· Strong commercial awareness with a track record of hitting sales and revenue targets
· Confident sales ability, with experience converting enquiries into long-term customers
· Professional, personable communication style with strong relationship-building skills
· Well organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working with processes and systems
· Confident using the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel, for reporting and day-to-day administration
· Flexible to work weekends as part of a rota
