Kennel Assistant
We are on the look out for a new staff member to join our team!
Week day, weekend and evening availability needed.
Shifts are 8am - 6pm and staff are required to take turns of night pee 8pm - 9pm
Duties:
- Provide daily care and attention to dogs in the kennels and daycare
- Feed and provide water for the dogs according to their specific dietary needs
- Clean kennels, including removing waste, sanitising surfaces, and replacing bedding
- Supervise group playtimes
- Administer medications or treatments as directed (training provided)
- Monitor the health and behaviour of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
-Ability to follow instructions and ask for help if unsure
Requirements:
- Ability to handle moderate lifting, including moving large dogs or bags of food etc.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with pet owners and address their inquiries or concerns
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Weekend availability
- MUST BE RELIABLE - with busy holiday periods we only have time for reliable staff members. Extra shifts available over holidays also.
Bonnyton Farm is not on any public transport routes, as such candidates will need access to a car or other mode of transport. You will also be expected to complete seasonal tasks such as grass cutting and strimming. We have horses on the farm, on the rare occasion you may be asked to move or provide feed for them, however if you are uncomfortable with this you would not be expected to do so. You will also be required to do evening duties (night pee), this is typically 8.00pm-9.00pm.
