1. Role Purpose
The Design Manager is responsible for the end-to-end technical and design delivery of one or two assigned projects within the Eirefacades Group. This includes design planning, calculations, modelling, drawing packages, compliance checks, client coordination, and technical support to installation and site teams.
This role is the primary technical authority for their project(s), ensuring all design outputs are compliant, coordinated, buildable, and delivered on programme.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Project-Level Design Leadership
- Lead the design delivery for 1–2 allocated façade/refurbishment projects.
- Manage designers, technicians, detailers, and modellers assigned to the project.
- Plan and track design deliverables against the project programme.
- Ensure design output aligns with procurement, fabrication, and installation timelines.
B. Technical Design Development
- Review and approve project-specific calculations, interface details, schedules, and material lists.
- Ensure compliance with CWCT, ADB, OEM standards, and Building Regulations.
- Validate system designs, fabrication drawings, and setting-out information.
- Ensure technical risks are identified and resolved early.
C. Digital Modelling & Software
- Review or produce 3D models using tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper, SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
- Ensure all models are clash-free, accurate, and aligned with fabrication requirements.
- Maintain structured file organisation and revision control via SharePoint.
- Support parametric modelling and advanced geometry as required.
D. Client & Consultant Liaison
- Lead all technical communication for the project with clients and consultants.
- Attend design workshops and coordination meetings.
- Present solutions and interface strategies clearly.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with architects, façade consultants, and engineers.
E. Coordination with Installation & Site Teams
- Act as the installation team’s primary technical contact.
- Resolve RFIs, TQs, and buildability issues quickly.
- Support installation sequencing and provide on-site technical input when required.
- Ensure technical queries are escalated and closed promptly.
F. Procurement, Fabrication & Production Support
- Prepare and validate technical information for procurement packages.
- Resolve technical queries from production and fabrication teams.
- Coordinate release of fabrication drawings with production schedules.
- Validate material compatibility and correct specification.
G. Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Ensure outgoing drawings and models meet internal quality standards.
- Review QA checks on all drawing packages before issue.
- Maintain clear revision history and documentation via SharePoint.
- Assist in technical NCR investigations and corrective actions.
H. Resource Management (Project-Based)
- Manage the workloads of design resources assigned to the project.
- Identify resource constraints and escalate appropriately.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
- Ensure design hours are managed within project allowances.
3. Required Competencies & Experience
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of technical design experience in façades, glazing, or cladding.
- Experience delivering design on refurbishment or remediation projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and installation constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design on one or more projects.
Technical Competence
- Knowledge of façade systems including curtain walling, windows, doors, rainscreen cladding, and fire-rated systems.
- Understanding of structural load paths, wind load design, and thermal performance requirements.
- Knowledge of fire compliance requirements including ADB and cavity barrier layouts.
- Familiarity with CWCT guidance.
Software Skills
- AutoCAD (required).
- Strong advantage: Rhino, Grasshopper, SolidWorks, Inventor.
- Experience with PDF markup tools and drawing review software.
- SharePoint experience for controlled documentation.
Soft Skills
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- Strong presenter in client and consultant technical meetings.

5. Qualifications
- Degree in façade engineering, architectural technology, mechanical engineering, civil/structural engineering or similar.
- Additional training in CAD, modelling or façade systems advantageous.
- Full driving licence required.
6. Package

Pay: £65,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
