Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will support the kitchen staff in preparing and serving high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
- Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior chefs
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times
- Help with meal plating and presentation to ensure an appealing appearance
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management
- Serve meals to customers or staff as required, ensuring prompt and courteous service
- Follow health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment for all staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen roles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Basic cooking skills with a keen interest in developing culinary expertise
- Experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
