Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a genuine passion for senior care. This role involves supervising care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised care, and supporting residents to maintain their independence and well-being. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in fostering a warm, respectful, and safe environment for all residents.
Duties
- Lead and supervise care staff to ensure the delivery of compassionate and professional care in accordance with care plans.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and meal preparation.
- Develop, review, and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families.
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Support residents in maintaining their independence whilst respecting their dignity and preferences.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities using IT systems efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care.
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
- IT literacy to manage documentation and care planning systems efficiently.
- Compassionate approach with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required by the needs of the care home environment.
- NVQ Level 3
- DBS required
Pay: From £14.01 per hour
