Café Assistant – Bites N Beyond
Location: Bites N Beyond Café
We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and reliable Café Assistant to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you will help deliver excellent customer service while assisting with food preparation in a fast-paced café environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Take customer orders accurately using the till/POS system.
- Prepare hot and cold drinks, including tea, coffee, and milkshakes.
- Assist in preparing Full English breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and Indian street food.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards.
- Keep the dining area, kitchen, and workstations clean and organised.
- Follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Wash utensils and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
- Refill stock and report low inventory to management.
- Handle customer enquiries politely and resolve basic issues professionally.
- Work as part of a team during busy breakfast and lunch service.
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience working in a café/Barista, restaurant, or similar food service environment.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Confident in taking customer orders and delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Please note: We are currently looking for applicants with previous café or restaurant experience. Candidates should have a good understanding of food preparation and customer service. Applications from candidates without relevant experience may not be considered.
