About Autumn Lodge
Autumn Lodge is a friendly, independently run care home supporting 38 older people living with dementia. We believe every day should be enjoyable and meaningful—for both our Residents and our staff. As Senior Maintenance Person you'll be a valued member of our team helping to create a warm, safe and supportive environment for everyone.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Organise, motivate and guide the maintenance person
- Manage all areas of Health & Safety for the Home
- Facility management
- Routine inspection and preventative maintenance
- Equipment maintenance
- Building work and renovations
- General plumbing and carpentry requirements
- Air-conditioning and boiler management
- Maintain basic IT systems
- Contractor management
- Stay current with industry trends
- Commitment to own professional development
- Attend weekly management meetings
- Attend quarterly full staff evening meetings
Essential Requirements
- Proven maintenance and leadership experience
- Strong skill set for plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating
- Proven Health & Safety Regulations and building codes knowledge
- Full, clean driver’s license
- Competent and confident with IT
- Strong physical ability to lift, carry and perform manual labour
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds
- Adaptable to change and calm under pressure
- Ability to accept feedback
- Well presented, reliable and respectful with a good sense of humour
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in a care home setting
- Knowledge of Dementia
