Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver Class 1 to join our logistics team in Birmingham area as a TRAMPING WORK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Type of work : Container and general haulage on box/curtain.
Start time may vary: typically from 03:00 am to 07:00 am
Days/shifts : 5-6 shifts per week, shifts may vary from 10 to 14 hours depending on route and traffic.
Payment: from £200/day - paid weekly.
Responsibilities
- Operate artic lorries in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Deliver goods to clients or distribution centres in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Adhere to all legal requirements related to driving hours, tachograph regulations, and licensing obligations
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to the relevant authorities and management
- Maintain clean a tidy vehicle.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC and tacho card.
- Must meet insurance criteria : minimum 1 year of experience, minimum 25 years, max 6 points on the driving licence, no DD,DR,CD,IN,TT endorsements.
- Knowledge of artic operations and securing loads effectively
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
