Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carer to provide exceptional support and companionship to individuals in their own homes. Duties
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Administer medications accurately according to prescribed schedules and document all medication-related activities
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritious and tailored diets that meet individual health needs
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe living environment
- Manage behavior and provide emotional support for clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments
- Offer transportation support by driving clients to appointments or errands as needed
- Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills and coordinate with healthcare professionals when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments
- Strong patient care skills with knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care practices
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and their families
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety procedures
- Compassionate caregiving approach with patience and understanding in challenging situations
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record for transportation duties
- Ability to perform light cooking and meal preparation tailored to dietary requirements
- Skilled in behavior management techniques for clients with cognitive impairments
- First aid certification and knowledge of emergency response procedures
