As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts & Finance Administrator to take ownership of our finance and accounts administration function.
This is an important position reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer and is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, taking responsibility, and contributing to the financial success of an established and growing business.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and control of the company's accounts and finance function, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, effective reporting, and sound financial administration.
The role also requires occasional coordination with our UAE Head Office regarding internal financial transactions between companies within the Guardforce Global Group. The UK business operates independently from our UAE operations; however, there are periodic inter-company transactions requiring professional communication and accurate reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the Finance Department.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Prepare year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
- Maintain the sales ledger, purchase ledger, and general ledger.
- Manage company banking transactions and cash flow.
- Oversee credit control and ensure prompt recovery of outstanding debts.
- Process supplier payments and reconcile supplier accounts.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Administer payroll and pension reporting.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports.
- Analyse company expenditure and identify opportunities for improved financial efficiency.
- Produce detailed monthly analysis of all company vehicle expenditure including fuel, servicing, repairs, maintenance, insurance, road tax, MOT, leasing and other related costs with recommendations for cost savings.
- Produce management reports and KPIs for the Group CEO.
- Maintain robust financial controls and statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with the UAE office regarding inter-company transactions and reconciliations when required.
- Improve financial systems and reporting procedures.
- Undertake other finance duties as required by the Group CEO.Essential Requirements
- Minimum five years' experience in a senior accounts or finance administration role.
- Excellent working knowledge of Sage Accounting Software is essential.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and HMRC regulations.
- Experience preparing management accounts independently.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience analysing business expenditure and preparing management reports.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with integrity and confidentiality.
Desirable Qualifications
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent.
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified or studying towards qualification.
- Experience within the security, facilities management or service industry would be advantageous.
