An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and supportive service, Learning, Inclusion and skills service as an Finance Manager Inclusion. We are excited to welcome a new manager as part of our expanding team.
To lead and manage the financial planning and monitoring for Derby City Council to ensure that we spend the SEND Reform grant and provide statutory returns to the DFE on the spend.
Working in partnership with the Director and Heads of Service for SEND and Inclusion to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure robust financial governance across the service by:
Leading the strategic financial planning, forecasting and budget management for SEND and Inclusion, ensuring effective coordination with corporate finance teams to deliver accurate financial monitoring and sustainable financial outcomes.
Designing, implementing and embedding a new financial operating model to support SEND Reform, ensuring that funding arrangements and financial processes align with programme delivery and future reform initiatives.
Providing strategic oversight to ensure all financial management arrangements operate in full compliance with the Council's financial regulations, using ControCC, liquid logic and finance software

About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have...
Excellent communicator both in terms of conveying information and in seeking to understand others
Ability to demonstrable experience of resource management including the DSG
Knowledge and understanding education funding.
Excellent experience of budget monitoring and report to appropriate boards.
Skills to deliver value for money for the people of Derby through the effective design and delivery of the service
Experince in, accuracy and timeliness of all financial records, accounting processes and reconciliations, maintaining strong financial controls and assurance
